Not sure what to say?

Mel was a great guy. My two fondest memories of Mel - We saw the Ali/Foreman "Roperdope Fight" at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago. I remember us leaping to our feet and screaming when the referee called the fight. A performance of "Shepherd on the Rock" at NIU - m.335 to the end - Mel tongued everything and moved incredibly fast. Well done, Mel!!
Mel, I hope you remembered to bring your clarinets with you. When I die, I'm bringing mine. We can play duets then.

...

Mel was my older brother. My sister and I called him Bruzzie. He was passionate about his music. I can't go on... It's too hard to express in words all I feel. We will miss him dearly.

Thank you Mel! I learned much from you...about the clarinet & life. You are in my thoughts.

Mel's memory shines for me in every clarinet piece I hear, in every ring of laughter & in the love of his dedicated friends & our family. He cultivated humor & inspired excellence & integrity. Although his battle with illness was extended he was doing so well that his final complication and passing was entirely unexpected. We love him deeply, will continue to appreciate him & his exquisite legacy & do miss him terribly.

Mel was my mentor and friend. Every clarinet student I teach will have the pleasure of Mel and his teachings.

Mel was a devoted and loving husband and will forever be in my heart.
