Not sure what to say?

I bought a new Toyota truck from Mel in 1985, and there was a lot of laughing during the process. For instance, he literally burst into the Toyota jingle early on in the process, "Oh, what a feeling...". The element of surprise alone had me on the floor. I recall thinking at the time that this guy could do stand-up. Wish I'd gotten to know him better.

When I think about Mel, I think of his generous nature and the way he showed everyone he knew that they were important to him. Mel shared many gifts with us, but the way he lifted every one of us up just by being himself was a forever gift that I will hold on to. One of the last times Ricky and I saw him and Sandy, Mel insisted on treating us to dinner, pulling out all of the stops and doing everything to make our evening together a wonderful and absolutely memorable experience. That...

Barb and Amber so very sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Melly, the dad, the Grandfather, the friend, the funny, friendly guy everyone loved. You have left your family too soon. We are very sad. JJ will miss you, but we will be sure he remembers you. Who knew that Thursday before you passed would be your last chance to hug him. You said, "you don't know how much this means to me". But we knew. He could be standoffish on his good-bye hugs at times, but not that day. Amber has been getting through this great loss with the help of wonderful...

Dear Mel, When the news came last week of your passing, every friend you ever had, and that was so many, had a piece of their heart just torn away.... People in general, friends in particular always, always felt better after spending time with you than before they arrived !! You are the epitome of a man with a life well lived. The Pearly Gates are of course wide open, and Heaven will be so much better a place than ever before. Get the pool table and the drums set up, it´s just a matter...

There are so many wonderful things I could say about Mel. He was a kind soul, with a sense of humor bigger than life and he certainly lit up a room with his smile. Mel had many sayings but by far my favorite was LOVE LOVE! Amber, Sandy and family, my thoughts and prayers are with all if you at this difficult time. May the love and support of family and friends help you through the days ahead. Until we meet again Mel.... LOVE LOVE RIP my friend.
