Not sure what to say?

I just heard of Mr. Wolock's passing. I am so sorry to hear. He was my guidance counselor at MHS and then later, I was his barista for years at Lucca's downtown. We would still talk about current events and what I wanted out of life. I will miss him.

I knew Mel in his later years from having coffee at various places in Metuchen. He and his wife did interesting things like going to Utah to see Zion Park and Bryce Canyon. Mel would daily take a vigorous 1 mile walk to downtown Metuchen for his coffee. He was not a guy who spent his later years doing nothing. Gonna miss his presence at breakfast time.

My family knew and spent much time with Mel and his family during the early-mid 1960s. I was delighted to renew that friendship in recent years. Mel was a very warm, lovely, generous man. Clearly brilliant and talented, he made his mark on several careers and was a person one feels privileged to have known. Me and my family send love and sympathies to his entire family. Chris Wellin

I remember Mr Wolock walking the halls and always saying hello, having a kind word for everybody. My deepest condolences and sympathy to the family at this difficult time.

Loved him; he was my favorite guidance counselor. RIP, Mel.

My sympathy to Izzy and the entire Wolock family. Mel was a wonderful person - caring, honest, and true to his ideals.

Mr. Wolock encouraged me to pursue one of my dreams when I didn't think it to be possible. I will never forget him or his support for as long as I live. Rest in heaven, Mr. Wolock.

I was another of those teenagers who loved being in the Wolock home back in the 70's. Mel and Izzy set the tone for that warm and wonderful household. My own parents grew a little jealous, I think, of hearing me wax on about what perfect parents they were! To Isabel, and to my dear friends Ellen and Dave - I send my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Mel was just the best.

What a warm, generous person Mel was. Peace be with the family. My deepest condolences, Rita Carnival ( I also was an NJEA pension consultant with Mel)
