Not sure what to say?

Dear Professor Berg,

I am sorry this is so late, I just found out of this very sad news. I will always have great admiration for you as a History student at Valpo from (98'-02'). Through your teachings I became a huge fan of the Beat's and Hippies movement, something I will always cherish. I always appreciated your humble approach and open door policy for students to chat with you. I will see you again, someday.

Buzz was among the very best and most engaging teachers I ever had. After college, he became one of my best friends. Like all who knew and loved him, I will miss him immensely.

My deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to this amazing giving man. He did so much for me and my family through the big brother program at the ymca. He was a loving kind giving man and I only wish I would have known he was sick I would have visited him in his time of need. May God bless your new journey Buzz Berg and rest in peace and paradise. We will never forget you.

I think of you fondly from Osage High School. You were so friendly and your presence on stage was awesome. We were hoping to see you again at our 60th class reunion on class of 1955. Thanks for being you!

I just received news of Buzz's death. I am sad but remember him fondly when I was a history major (1979-1981). My husband Shawn Reynolds (history minor) and I stayed in touch for quite a few years after we left and got to hear of his adventures. Always ready to offer a bear and discuss the past, present and future, I particularly remember watching the 1980 presidential returns as Buzz and others (Jim Combs and Dean Kolhloff) predicted the election consequences with amazing accuracy. Buzz...

See you later, Buzz
