Meredith Norton

I just finished Lopsided a few minutes ago (I have bilateral breast cancer) and enjoyed her humorous way of sharing her story. Our personalities & humor are so alike that I felt like we would've been good friends. I decided to look up her life after the book & was shocked to my core that she didn't make it. For those of you who knew her personally, I am envious & hope you know how lucky you were.

I had the privilege of being taught by "Miss Norton" for two years in her home room, so I got to hear all kinds of her amazing stories through 3 hours of home room each day and I loved every second. I would sit in aw as she would go on these long detailed stories and always told her she should write a book. I am a Librarian but also the mother of a beautiful daughter who now is an angel. Candice, my daughter, was diagnosed with breast cancer August 10, 2011. She was only 27 when diagnosed and fought hard as hell until her passing on December 25, 2013. She was only 30 years old. I ran across "Lopsided" in helping a patron find a book on Breast Cancer. It's three years later, but I just read Ms. Norton's book "Lopsided." I was afraid to look her up on the internet until I had finished. I'm so sorry she lost her battle with cancer. So grateful to her for such a brilliantly written memoir about so many things, not just cancer. As a solo performer and community college teacher, I hope to include it in a curriculum someday. My condolences to all who knew and loved her.

Such a brave story, a gifted lady gone too young.

Meredith's book had me laughing hysterically while I was bald and going through chemo, she inspired me to write my memoir also. I'm saddened that we have lost her, but wanted to sign this guest book to say that the world is a better place for having had her in it. So thankful for her.

I didn't know Meredith but I really loved her book, and just read it again over the summer. She seemed like a fantastic person. I'm so sorry for her family's loss.

The world is a better place for having Meredith in it. She has touched many lives as she touched mine with her wit and her biting honesty. My heart is heavy knowing that she is gone but light with the knowledge that her burden is now light as the breath of a baby.

We have Meredith's book in our Kaiser Cancer Resource Library and have both read it. It is amazing! We were shocked and terribly saddened by her death.
