Not sure what to say?

My beloved Merle-It is 4 weeks ago today that you left me and the pain is unbearable. I love you so very much and can only hope and pray that we may someday reunite in heaven. The wonderful life you lived has been an inspiration to many many people. We all miss you so very very much. I wish you could read some of the entries in this Guest Book - they make me so very proud of your many accomplishments. Our children and I will love you forever.

Merle, ZF2AA, was a true gentleman and a great friend of the ham community around the world. Will be missed by all who knew him!

Andrew Eden, ZF1EJ

Dear Bobbie

I only met Merle a short time ago but had heard of him
and looked forward to meeting both of you. Merle was
such a gentleman . He was so modest of his many
accomplishments and both of you were so kind to me.
Merle made me feel comfortable and made me laugh and
it was such a privilege to spend his last birthday
with both of you. I will always remember his birthday
and going to see the Christmas lights in the Cayman
Is. with both of you.
I am so...

Dear Bobbie and Family:

Merle will be missed by all who have known him. For over 30 years he has held my respect on many levels, certainly because of his many accomplishments some of which I only recently learned, but mostly I will remember him as one of the finest gentleman I have had the privilege to know. I know he has been an inspiration to many of his friends, students and colleagues. I will miss him.
My condolences.

Merle, I hardly knew you...

...but I knew at once you to be a gentleman in the highest order. But I wish to salute you as part of the "greatest generation" and a hero in both country and family.

Our only hope is that others would follow your example.

Bobbie,
Linda, Robin, Jim,
With great sadness we learn of Merle's passing. He was an inspiration to so many of us; I am privileged to have known him all these years.
You have many many wonderful memories to help sustain you,
Kippy

Dear Bobbie, Linda, Robin & Jim,

Our deepest sympathies and condolences on your recent loss of Merle. He was one of the finest people we have ever known. We valued greatly our close association with him over the years. We were on the otolaryngology faculty together at the University of Michigan Medical School from 1959 to 1974. Merle was a kind and gentle man who lived by a high standard of principles and accomplishments and inspired his many students and colleagues to live and...
