Not sure what to say?

Of all the teachers I had at Wheatley, Merle Levine was the most influential in the course of my life. Her Humanities class and field trips influenced my relationships and choices of professions. I will be forever grateful to Merle. I am fortunate that I got to see her at our last reunion. !! May she rest in peace. Laurie Asher

I was a student of Merle's at Wheatley High School. When ever I'm asked if I had a teacher who stands out in my memories, I never hesitate to talk about Merle Levine. To this day, I recall our Humanities class field trip to the Cloisters - she knew so much about every chiseled column and tapestry. It made such an impression on me and I believe it influenced my later choice of art history as a college major. I was able to tell her how much I admired her as my teacher when I saw her in NYC...

As a teacher in the Northport Schools during Merle's tenure, I am truly saddened by her passing. Merle headed many a committee and initiated projects that impacted us all. Her devout feminism made a difference in difficult times! I choose to remember her wry wit and commitment to equal rights! RIP Merle, you remain a true role model! Charlotte Koons

I'm a graduate of Northport High School and Merle was the principal while I was a student there. I always had a great deal of respect for her. She was a caring person and a great role model. She had a positive impact on so many people throughout her life. My thoughts are with her family at this time.

Merle and I worked together in Northport. She was a wonderful, caring educator. I was so blessed to know her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I remember Merle from Wheatley High School. She was one of those teachers you could always go talk to and feel at ease. And she always had a bright smile. May her memory be a sourced of strength to her children and grandchildren.
