Thinking of you as I dig into our families history, we didn't spend much time together but you left a mark on me and I find myself thinking of you alot lately.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!
You are loved and greatly missed,today and always,but never forgotten.

Thinking of Merle this day as well as many other days. April 1st Merle's birthday day.

Thank you for the memories Uncle Merle, thank you for the smiles and blown kisses. And thank you for your kindness and warmth. I will always love you and keep you in my heart.

I worked with Merle just after college in 1980, at the Forest Service's regional public affairs office in Portland, just after the eruption of Mount St. Helens. That was a busy time. I saw early on how Merle always strived to give factual, complete and timely information to the news media, sometimes tussling with agency management to do his job at his best. I never forgot that. He always remembered the needs of reporters.

Merle Pugh was a public servant extraordinaire.

I have known Grandpa Merle for over 10 years. I will miss him dearly, he always made me smile. He was a wonderful grandfather and I enjoyed visting with him.
