What a wonderful tribute to your father. I'm saddened and shocked to read his obituary. He was SO full of life, and his pride for his grandchildren, and children was always a common topic of discussion. Hoping your family can find comfort in the coming month's and years.

I am deeply sad that Merlin has passed away so sudden. Know he has joined my mom and dad and Im sure Mom and him are sharing memories with us all. Mom really enjoyed Merlin and visits with us in the past. Please know we are heart broken as well of his passing. Love to the family and Vivian.

Scott, I was touched by your tribute to your father this morning. My mother, Shirley Steele, passed away in December. Every day she read the obituaries, and every Sunday she would tell me about the lives of those that had passed. I thought it odd at the time, but now I read them as well. It was her way, and mine, of honoring those who have passed, absorbing just a little bit of their lives. I wrote her obituary, trying capture a little of my mother's life.
