Merrill was a big part of my high school life. He was a hunter and I had a hard time understanding hunting. One day driving a rabbit ran in front of his car and he hit it. The rabbit did not die but the back legs were crushed. Merrill backed his car up with me screaming and ran the rabbit over to make sure it died. I asked him why he did that and he said, "I can't let an animal suffer." Than I understood, Merrill was a kind soul that cared and respected nature and that's why he hunted. May...
