Not sure what to say?

Dear Jan,
Just heard the news of Merron's death. How sad for you and your family — and for us who cherished him as a friend. I remember fondly our days in Grinnell. Merron was such a unique individual, a man who made an impact on all he met, and we all mourn his leaving us.

It was a privilege to study under Dr. Seron at UCLA. He was certainly the most encouraging mentor of my youth.
Few have his empathy and extensive comprehension. I cherish my memories of working under him and being a counselor intern in the L.A. inner city high school.

Dear Aunt Jan,Stephanie, Jen & families, my heart sank to hear of Merron's passing. He will be greatly missed yet warmly remembered for his legacy, and the many lives he touched in such a positive way, I know, I'm one of those lucky people. My condolences, and keep him in your heart.

Marjo, et. al.
News of your brother Merron's death brought a great sense of sadness and loss to me, but surely not as deep as is felt by you and your family. I have been thinking of your family's loss for two days and pray for the peace that will come to all of us in time.
I came to know Merron at Cornell College in the early fall of 1954 when we and about a dozen other 18- and 19-year-old "boys" all became pledges to the Beta Omicron ( the Owls) social group on...

Most of the times I have been with Merron were on the golf course. While these times were not as many as I would have liked I admired his intensity and his ability to play the game he loved. I remember his way of shooting 'par for him.' He would go over each hole and pencil in what he wanted on a particular hole. If he got his 'par' he would be happy. I spoke with him about education on a few occasions and he was a truly dedicated professional. He will be long remembered. Georgia and Jack

Jan and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. We were very fortunate to have spent time with you and Merron last October. May God Bless you at this time.

Dear Janet and Marjo,
Please accept my condolences on Merron's death. I was shocked to hear this sad news. Merron was a cute friend from first grade. Always busy, always upbeat, always glad to see you and always a friend.
I can't help think they are singing in Heaven tonight because someone special is there..
Please accept my sympathy to you both and to your families.

Dear Janet & Family, I am so sorry to hear about Merron. I will always remember his genuine interest in my education, when I was pursing my nursing degree. I know you & your family have wonderful memories together.

Dear Jan, Steph, Jen and family, we are so sad and shocked that someone with all the life, energy, compassion and fun that Merron exemplified is gone. We will have nothing but the fondest memories of him. All the Crystal years with the fun band jamming...Dad will be happy to have a golf partner. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. He will really be missed. Fondly, Sue, Mike, Patrick and Betsy Gilfillan
