Merv and I go back to 1969, he was my Sophomore basketball team coach. Then high school bball and fun sports in Medora. We have stayed in touch throghout the years. Maybe the best I can say is to quote a friend, "We lost a great one with his passing!"

A kind and sweet man. I met him while he was at Marquette Catholic in Alton. My prayers & sympathies to his family.

He was a wonderful teacher, coach and mentor. He presented to his students how to prepare yourself for a influential future and how to be a mentor to others.

My condolences to the family he always made history class entertaining he was a good teacher and a good person.
