Not sure what to say?

How shocking and sad. I so enjoyed seeing her, if briefly, at our 50th high school reunion and talking longer at our 40th where I met her husband. Our paths continued after high school at Washington University and I am sorry that we didn't know each other better. My condolences to her family.

My heartfelt condolences to Meryl's family. Meryl was a year ahead of me in the derm residency at WUMS. She was knowledgable, generous, patient and kind. I didn't know about her career change but the product is beautiful and reflects real talent and joy. Thank you for sharing that legacy.

I came to know Merle through an art class we both attended. She was a bright spirit and a talented pastel artist. I loved talking with her about what she was working on and loved seeing the result when she was done. Her passing leaves a large gap in our small class, some of whom have known her for years. My deepest condolences to her husband, her family and all who cherish her. Sincerely, Diane Fite

So sorry to hear of Dr. Abensohn's passing. I had the chance to work with her in our dermatology office and as a Resident in the Department of Dermatology at Rush in the 1990s. She was a very kind and dedicated doctor. My condolences to her family.

I loved Meryl. She was the best friend anyone could have. She was warm and gentle. She was a breathe of fresh air. Her smile lit up a room. She was very inquisitive; life was an adventure and she lived it fully. She traveled to many counties and appreciated the beauty she saw and the different people she met. She loved museums and art galleries and was fascinated by the many artistic techniqes she encountered. She took photography lessons and then took zillions of pictures of nature and...

Our hearts are so heavy. We loved Meryl and all the light that she brought to those who knew her .. she was a shining star. Her glow will be greatly missed. Much love to the family from Gerry and Richard Freibrun
