Read MoreDear Mendel family, I'm sorry that i found this 15 years after your mom and grandmother passed. I knew her from when I worked for Dr. Mendel in the mid 1960s. She would weekly prepare a big dinner once a week , and often invite us to participate. Delicious, yes! But I enjoyed her stories and laughter. Her wine-laced watermelon is still a funny memory.
