Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

Michael (Mickey) J. Aldridge Sr., 76 of East Lyme, entered eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Sunday March 23, 2025, at his residence.


Michael was born July 14, 1948, in Huntington, New York on Long Island toJames Aldridge and Helen Young Aldridge.  He married June V. Denison Aldridge, she survives him.


Michael served in the United States Coast Guard and was honorably discharged. He worked for the State of Connecticut as a Lieutenant in the Department of Corrections, until his retirement.


He was an avid golfer and loved rooting for the New York Giants and New York Mets. He was proud of his service as President of the East Lyme Babe Ruth League. He was also a Union Steward for the Lieutenants and Captains Union in the Department of Corrections as well as a member of the Niantic American Legion.


Besides his beloved wife, June,  he is survived by his son Michael Aldridge, Jr., his wife Debra and their daughters, Olivia and Hannah; his son Scott Aldridge, his wife Betsey, children Savannah, Scott Jr., Isabella and Anthony; daughter Sherry Brewster, her husband Miles children Crystal, Jasmin and Justin; brothers Paul Bond, his wife Kim, Kenneth Welcome, Carl Welcome and sister Kathy Bond, mother Helen Welcome; granddaughters Erica Burrell, Tiffany Brewster, Brittany Brewster; grandsons Ronald Brewster Jr., Ethan Brewster, John Caulkins, Jeff Mcintosh, and Jeremy Mcintosh. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Bobby.


Michael was predeceased by his father James Aldridge, brother James Aldridge Bond, sons Ronald Brewster, Robert Brewster, and Bruce Brewster; daughter Janet Brewster Mcintosh and grandson Mark Tinker.


A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Thursday April 3, 2025 with a Memorial Service commencing at 6:00PM at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington Street in New London.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to the Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375.
