Not sure what to say?

I became friends with Mike as part of the Brown Standup Comics. I came across his obituary in the Brown magazine, and was deeply saddened. He was so full of brilliant humor. He was genuine and insightful. His humor was inspiring, given his struggle with his disease. He really helped me understand the transformative power of humor, and of story-telling in general. I will continue to be inspired by him.

Michael and I became friends during our time at Brown University. His strength, sense of humor and warmth will forever be an inspiration.

I was a roommate of Mike's during our semester in Israel. He was incredibly funny and thoughtful, and I learned a lot from him. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My deep condolences to his family.

Our sincere and deepest condolences, from the Inpatient Social Work Staff-SWCMHS.

You will always live in our hearts and prayers.

Our deepest condolences from the staff at Hilltop Health Center.

My favorite memory of Michael was from when I was still living in Connecticut at my parents' house. Michael was only 2 or 3 years old and I was so excited by his cute childishness. He was such an adorable toddler! There must have been a family gathering, and I was smothering Michael with kisses out on the front lawn. David had his high school friends visiting and they all thought I was crazy for smooching my adorable little cousin, but I couldn't help myself. He was such a doll!

Mike, you were always such a good friend. You always knew how to cheer people up and make everyone laugh. That's the Mike I know and will remember.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Atkins family during this difficult time. I feel blessed to have been Mike's friend and shared so many great years with him at Hopkins. He will be deeply missed. With sincere condolences,
