Not sure what to say?

Coach Bailey was one of my very favorite teachers. I loved his biology class so much that I took zoology, wilderness survival, and swimming from him too. He wore the same type of shirt every day (just different colors) except on the last day of school when he rocked a Hawaiian t-shirt. Dissecting squids and making a fire with a bowdrill were great memories. God bless you Coach!

I was saddened to read of Mike's passing. I taught with Mike for many years and considered him a kind and generous person and excellent educator. He always had time for friendly conversation and was the first to assist others in need. He volunteered hours to many of Oly's sports programs in addition to his teaching and coaching duties. Mike was multi talented and I consider myself lucky to have taught with him for so many years.

Mike had such passion for nature and wildlife, He cared about his students and his co workers. I taught with him for many years. His gentle soul filled that school. Bless him.

Coach Bailey was a great man! Many things really stick out to me about him. One was his kindness. The other was his patience. When I was a senior he asked me to please sign his yearbook. That really touched me. I was amazed that he considered me someone worthy of his year book. It also taught me that he truly loved us as students, swimmers, and fellow human being. I like wise asked him to sign mine to this day I treasure the words that he wrote. The world is without one person who truly loved...

Brother Mike & Family; It is with sorrow that we contemplate our neighborhood without Mike. He was a gentle-man and always considerate. We will miss his much enjoyed sourdough biscuits and home-made jellies. RIP . . . . Sherm & Delores North

I will truly miss you uncle Mike! Such a sweet intelligent man, I was honored enough to have met you. Rest peacefully!

Mike was often in the copy room at Olympus when I was copying off my papers, we had the same consultation. I loved to hear what he was involved in and about the health of his parents, whom he loved. I often saw him taking tickets at the school games and the faculty loved to eat his dutch oven cooking at the end of the school year. I always hated deciding which kind I was going to taste so many of us took the sampler plate. We would try just a few bites from each oven because we knew that all...

I first took swim lessons from that group of Bailey, Lowther, Ptaschinski, etc., then worked alongside Bailey for many years as a swim teacher, lifeguard, and later an swim coach. Sometimes (okay, most of the time) we gave him a hard time, but I never saw him get angry. In swim lessons Bailey always got the older kids, and loved to get that canoe out. As a lifeguard, I remember every Friday he'd bring his grill and cook lunch for everyone. As a coach he was more kind than cutthroat, and...
