I am sorry to learn of Mike's passing. He was looked up to by so many. I enjoyed working with him when I was one of the staff at OWTS.

So sorry for the loss of a good man..remember Mike as a young man growing up in the old neighborhood and being friends with my brother Charlie. We also were family friends and would visit often on ridge road. Mary Beth you had a special brother. My sons so enjoyed him as a teacher. He will be missed by many. RIP Mike

Mitzi and the Bakunis Family I am deeply sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Bakunis. He was a great person and teacher, he will be greatly missed. My dad (Edward Langenheim) remebers playing football with him at the Torrington High School, he was known to my dad as "Iron Mike Bakunis"! Hugs and Prayers.

Mr Bakunis was one of our top notch teachers at. O.W.T.S , I was one of Mikes students in one of his first classes . Him and Tony Devito both new the real world in all situations which made them excellent educators, they taught what they knew which encompased learning reading, but most of all knowing how to make it work for each students personal needs then and through our lives.
