Sending heartfelt love and prayers to the entire Balanoff family, and to friends and colleagues to whom Michael had an impact. Though I never met Michael in person, I know he was a kind man. I know this not only from the shares I have read from others, but also from my own personal experience. Even when not well, he extended his generosity by making time to help others. That makes a special person. Love and strength to the Balanoff family. What a wonderful man you had in your life.

It's hard to wrap my head around the reality of Michael not being with us any longer. We became very close friends in our freshman year at Lawrence High School. We had a wonderful, loving friendship. He was the brother that I never had. We had the best conversations, which continued until we lost contact about two years ago. Sharing condolences to the entire family for a man that epitomized devotion; to family, friends and his community. Growing up with Jared, Brian and Noah, I spent a lot of time in the Balanoff house. Michale and Euni were two of my favorite "friends' parents". Mr. Balanoff was one of those rare fathers who not only cared about his family but also for those who were his kids' friends. He was genuinely interested in their lives, input and made it comfortable to talk to him about any topic....
