Michael Sean Bergin
Michael Sean Bergin (born October 21, 1970) of Rockville, Maryland passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the age of 51. Mike was the beloved son of Dr. Francis Bergin, Jr. and Mrs. Carol (LeClair) Bergin of Bethesda, Maryland. Mike leaves behind his siblings Francis Bergin, III and his wife Kelly of Madison, New Jersey; Katie Bergin and her husband Brian Peterson of New York City; and Erin (Bergin) and Collin Earnst of Foxboro, Massachusetts. Mike was a beloved and devoted uncle to Aileen Bergin, Aidan Bergin, Kieran Bergin, Mary Clare Earnst, Liam Earnst, and Colleen Peterson. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
Mike will be remembered for his sense of humor, thoughtful messages on greeting cards, artistic talents, love of classic rock music, and passion for sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. He was a graduate of Mater Dei School and Georgetown Preparatory School. In recent years, Mike was an usher at The Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland.
The family will receive visitors at Joseph Gawler's Sons Funeral Home in Washington, DC on Thursday, September 22 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23 at St. Bartholomew's Church in Bethesda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mike to the Montgomery County, Maryland affiliate of The National Alliance on Mental Illness (namimc.org).
