My deepest wishes for peace for the Bird family. When I was a teen MiKe helped me apply for and get into Hampshire College. My memory of him is one of profound kindness and generosity. His commitment to the alleviation of suffering made a deep impression on me as a young women. There aren't any good words to describe his gift to this world.

Mike was one of my most treasured role models. He was kind, had a great sense of humor and he was real. I had not talked with him recently but thought about him often. I just heard about Michael yesterday. We worked together at Beech Hill and have been friends for 12 years. Lydia, I am so sorry for your loss. Know that the best of him is lives on in the patients and clients that he reached out to. Many of them are better because of his work. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Grace.

Though I knew Mike for only a short time I saw something that I rarely see in the healing profession, and that is the open-mindedness and wisdom to see that sometimes what is perceived as a problem simply isn’t, and all that is required is acceptance. He was a wise healer and will be remembered for that.
