Not sure what to say?

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. I went to high school with Mike and reconnected with him when we were both living in Boston in our 20s, but it’s been years since I’ve seen him. I will cherish my memories of skiing, camping, playing ultimate, and hanging out with Mike back in the day. He had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around, but I will also remember his intellectual curiosity and his kind heart. Though we had lost touch, I am grateful for our time together during and...

My deepest wishes for peace for the Bird family. When I was a teen MiKe helped me apply for and get into Hampshire College. My memory of him is one of profound kindness and generosity. His commitment to the alleviation of suffering made a deep impression on me as a young women. There aren't any good words to describe his gift to this world.

Lydia, I hold you and Grace in my prayers and thoughts. In sympathy, Vicki, Camp Arcadia

My condolences to the Bird Family
Mike was one of my most treasured role models. He was kind, had a great sense of humor and he was real. I had not talked with him recently but thought about him often. I was hiking the Long Trail in February 2010 and was in the Hartsboro Road area. I rode by the home he was living in when we were students together at Antioch and I wished he was there. We rode together to Antioch once a week for two and a half years and we were good for each other at the...

I just heard about Michael yesterday. We worked together at Beech Hill and have been friends for 12 years. Lydia, I am so sorry for your loss. Know that the best of him is lives on in the patients and clients that he reached out to. Many of them are better because of his work. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Grace.

Lydia and Mike's Family,
My heart goes out to you at this sorrowful time. Mike was truly a giver of hope to so many. May you be comforted by the love of your family and friends. With Sympathy, Alison Kelly (Tampa, FL, Formerly of Brattleboro, VT)

Though I knew Mike for only a short time I saw something that I rarely see in the healing profession, and that is the open-mindedness and wisdom to see that sometimes what is perceived as a problem simply isn’t, and all that is required is acceptance. He was a wise healer and will be remembered for that.

I just learned of Mike's passing and am just devastated. Lydia, tried to call and leave you a message but no answer. Please know MJ and I are here for you and Grace should you need ANYTHING at all. Our love and prayers are winging out to you and to all who loved Mike and love your family. I know Mike is hanging out with Norman and Mary now, and he is smiling and at peace. I share your grief, my friend, and love you so much. Call if you wish -- 221-0465. Would be glad to have Grace with...

MIchael will be greatly missed by all who have been privileged to know him. May God wrap his loving arms around Lydia and Elizabeth Grace, mom, Tim, and Beth, and comfort you as you heal from this unfathomable loss.
