Blatchley was one of a kind. I served with him for over 5 years while in the Army. He almost always had a smile and positive attitude no matter what was going on. I had the honor of being a close friend while in the service and spent many weekends hanging out with him. Blatch was a pretty good pool player and our group would spend many nights a Tybee Island playing pool in one of the local beer joints. His favorite baseball team was the NY Mets and while in Hawaii Blatch got me into watching...

I was shocked and saddened by Mike's sudden passing. Had the pleasure of volunteering at Beth-el since January. I will miss him, especially chatting about cats. So sorry I was away for his service.
