Sacramento, California - Passed away on February 4th 2021, at the age of 76 in Sacramento, California. He was born April 13, 1944 to Harold and Marie Brooks in Ottumwa, Iowa. Michael had one older brother, Henry, and a younger sister, Jannetta. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1965 to June 1968 and was a Vietnam Veteran. After leaving the military, he settled in Sierra Vista, Arizona, where he began his Federal Civil Service career at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. In 1976. Michael received an Associate in Arts degree from Cochise College. In 1981, he moved to Sacramento, California to continue his Civil Service career at McClellan Air Force Base. While working for the U.S. Air Force, he lived and worked in Madrid, Spain for two years and five years in various locations throughout Turkey. In April of 1998, Michael retired from the Federal Service and remained in Sacramento. Throughout his life, he enjoyed antique collecting and restoration and world travel.
As he requested, his body was cremated. One half of his remains will be placed in the V.A. cemetery in Dixon, CA where he will receive a burial with military honors. The other half of his cremated remains will be placed in his family plot in the Ottumwa, Iowa cemetery.
