Mike Cabot was my eighth grade history teacher and was a friend of mine for over 58 years. I am deeply saddened by his passing, and I will sorely miss him. I wish all of his family members and friends my deepest condolences.

I was in Mike Cabot's 9th grade class during the Johnson/Goldwater election. I remember he held a contest to see if any of his students could predict the election state by state. We tied the number of states but I beat him in the electoral count. I will remember him as a great history teacher and a regular guy who came out to Seth Boyden school's ball field to teach us kids how to play "Fungo". I will miss him as a former student and future colleague.

Mr. Cabot was my 8th grade history teacher at Maplewood Jr. High. I was in his classroom when we learned that President Kennedy had been shot. He was an excellent teacher and a fine man. And remembered as such by many. My sincere condolences.
