I cherish every moment I spent with you, Michael. The biggest heart. The most beautiful smile. The most inquisitive mind. Your loss leaves an enormous hole in my heart, in our family, and in the world. There will never be another Michael Canning.

Dear Frank, Brenda and Erin,
My heart is just broken for you on this tragic loss. I am so sorry for the pain you and your entire family are enduring, and hope you find comfort in happy, loving memories with Michael, and peace knowing he is in God's eternal care. My deepest condolences.

Although I am no longer at ‘Chaug I remember well the time you got mad at me! I remember your brother well too. He was always so kind and always said “Hey Mr. Scanlon” when most students called me “Scan”. He was phenomenally respectful and always had a good vibe. You, Michael and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm not sure what could be said at this time of sorrow but please find comfort in the fact that during my time of coaching Michael in lacrosse he was a pure gentleman. Always willing to learn, always very respectful of the coaches, his teammates, officials, opponents and himself.
It is those attributes that makes coaching enjoyable.

Dear Brenda, Frank and Erin,
Our hearts are broken along with yours with the loss of Michael. He leaves a void in the world where his passionate and soulful spirit once existed. This will now be carried on in the memories of all those who loved and knew the funny and brilliant Michael Canning.
