Your father had such a great way of relating to a broad range of children and parents in New Providence, and i always appreciated him stopping me in the hallways of NPHS to say hi, offer encouragement or wish me luck.

After our graduation in 1977 he pulled me aside and we had a long talk about life and achieving great things, while remaining a good person in the eyes of our Lord. Have not forgotten that discussion, and only a great person and leader, who truly wanted the best for...

I just want you to know what a difference your father made to so many during his time as a superintendent in Hillsborough. He visited my Kindergarten classroom and sat right down with the students.He had such a kind manner and positive presence.I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I feared Earth could not long hold Dr. Carey and his brilliant spirit. He made such a difference in my life and those of everyone with whom he came in contact. I am sorry for your loss but eager to see him again on a distant day in a better place.

I owe a lot to Dr. Carey. He was an exceptional leader but more importantly he was a wonderful mentor. I have the highest respect for him. My condolences to the family. Thinking of you all. All my Best - T. Blackwell
