Michael Francis Carle

1944 - 2019

North Billerica- Michael F. Carle, 75, passed away at his home in North Billerica on Sunday, December 8, 2019, with his wife and children by his side.  Son of the late Harold and Beatrice (Hill) Carle, Michael was born on July 20, 1944, in Manchester, NH.  After his parents moved to Chicopee, Michael  attended Valentine Elementary School and went on to graduate from Chicopee High School.  During the Vietnam War, Michael entered into the United States Air Force, where he proudly served four years as a Fire Protection Specialist until October of 1970.  Upon returning home from the Air Force, Michael took a job with the Town of Longmeadow, working as Head Custodian, before his retirement in 2006.  After retiring, Michael and his beloved wife of 51 years, Claire (Harris) Carle, moved to North Billerica to be able to spend more time with their beautiful grandchildren. There Michael worked at the Hampton Inn and had proudly been employed in the maintenance department for the last 10 years.  While raising his family, Michael gladly volunteered his time as a youth sports coach.  He especially loved being able to have the opportunity to coach his daughter and sons and share with them his love for the game of baseball.  Michael was an amazing pencil artist and some of his work was featured in Graceland and also at Buckingham Palace.  Along with his loving wife Claire, Michael is survived by his wonderful sons, Steven Brien Carle, of Longmeadow, Jason Michael Carle, of North Billerica; his adoring daughter Kelly Renee Kasparian and her husband James, of Burlington, MA.  He was a loving grandfather to his beautiful grandchildren, Isabella and Piadora.  He is also survived by his brother Ronald Carle and his partner Merle, of Springfield.  In addition to his parents, Michael was also predeceased by his brother David Carle, in 1999.  Calling hours for Michael will be held Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 5 to 8p.m. at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA.  A funeral service will take place on Friday, December 13, at 8:45a.m., with committal services taking place at 10a.m. in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA.  Memorial contributions in Michael's memory can be made to American Parkinson Disease Association or the American Cancer Society.  For online condolences, please visit  www.corridanfuneral.com

Not sure what to say?

Dear papa,
thank you for being such a great grandfather. I couldnt ask for anyone better. You brought joy to every room you were in, and made everyone laugh always. I would always sleep over at you and Mimis, and always had so much fun. I would always make you paper crowns, and you would always help me with everything. You were such a kind, dedicated man. When it came to the time where it was hard, you were a fighter. You were always offering to give back to people and always had our...

Dear Claire and family,
I am very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man who was dedicated to loving his family and doing anything he undertook to the highest standards. I enjoyed getting to know you and Mike at LHS. You are in my prayers and frequently in my thoughts. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I have many fond memories of Mike during our years together at Glenbrook. I looked forward to seeing his amazing drawings....he was so accomplished....proud, but humble. Mike was a gentleman and hard worker and he was appreciated and respected by all. Although I left for Florida in 2003, I will never forget the valued members in our Glenbrook community. Claire and Family, you have my sincere sympathy.
