Not sure what to say?

Was a student at St. Raphaels High School in Morningside when Mr. Chernoff taught English in the 1970/71 timeframe. I remember him having a passion for Tennessee Williams. He also organized a first-time ski trip for the seniors to Seven Springs ski report which was previously unheard of at this small Catholic High School! He was a credit to his profession and may he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to his wife, family & friends. Mr. Chernoff taught at a small Catholic all girls HS, St Raphael´s in Pittsburgh, PA. He inspired a love of learning in myself & many of my classmates. In our Senior year he introduced us to Tennesse Williams. He was a beloved member of the faculty of this small school, & will be missed by all that he knew!

Michael's approach to life was formative for me, I learned a lot from his balanced but engaging perspective. He was a good man, whom I was fortunate to know so many years ago in Amherst. My...

Jaymie, It's been many years, but I can see both of your cheerful faces so clearly. I'll send a note with a few memories. love, Daphne

Robin and I were sad to learn of Michael's passing. He lived large and left beautiful memories for so many. Sending love to the family.

Our world has lost one its most sparkly lights (pun intended) Michael was the epitome of what every husband and father should aspire to be: fiercely loyal, determined, hardworking and completely devoted to his wife and family. His humor shone from the twinkle in his eyes which refused to fade over the passing years. It was truly an honor and a joy to have had Michael in my life. His physical presence may no longer be here, but his amazing and delightful spirit will live on forever in the...

Michael and I spent many hours laughing at the office. We were supposed to be working, but who says you can't do both...May his memory be a blessing; it certainly is to me.
