Dear, dear BJ ~ ~ we just learned that Mike has gone home -- How sad we are that we missed his last days and have not been there for you -- We loved being "pew-buddies" with you at church in recent months and will dearly miss Mike's presence -- Please know that we LOVE YOU and treasure our friendship. If we can help you in any way just let us know --
With love and deepest sympathy,

I just heard the news of Mike's passing and I am shocked and saddened! I spoke with him last year when my father passed away. Mike was my attorney on a case in 1995 when he was at Turner, Padget, Graham and Laney. Mike was a wonderful professional and a soft spoken word of advice to me and to my father. He helped me with so many law questions and when I would offer to pay, he would often say that if you can't help your fellow man in their time of need then you wouldn't be much of a man. ...

As one of Mike's law school professors, I had the great personal and professional privilege of both teaching and getting to know him personally while he attended Law School.

Later in life, as a lawyer, he and I were involved in a very interesting property case, Black v. Patel, 594 S.E.2d 162 (S.C. 2004) where we found ourselves on opposite sides.

He was a wonderful law student and a great lawyer and always a true gentlemen. His passing is a great loss and I wish his...

Mike Church was a dear friend when we were growing up in Surf City, NC. We wern't close in our adult years but we spent many days surfing beside Surf City Fishing Pier with Ronny, Jimbo, Yogi and Flipper. God Bless You, Mike. You will be missed.

Mike was my law school buddy and partner in moot court competitions. I thought he was the greatest! We had so much fun working on those presentations. Sadly it has been many years since I saw him last. But it was at his office at Turner Padgett and he was on the cutting edge of technology and VERY proud of it. Will never forget him. Condolences to his family. Peace and love to you Mike. USC Law '81

Mike Church was an avid advocate for his clients. I was always on the other side but he was always a gentleman and very courteous in our dealings.

Mike and I were law school class mates and although our paths did not often cross, it was always a joy to see him. I am saddened by his loss and pray that God will comfort and strengthen his family during this difficult time.

Mike was one of the smartest and brilliant attorneys I've met in my 24 years of practicing law. He was a loyal and great friend. When I first joined Turner Padget, Mike befriended me and acted as a mentor. Every evening at 6 or so, we would meet (with Randall in tow) and try to solve the problems of the times. I really missed him when he left Turner Padget. My life is so much better and enhanced by knowing Mike. BJ and Randall hang in there. You may not be able to see or touch Mike but...
