Feerick Funeral Home - Shorewood Obituary

Entered the fullness of Eternal Life on March 6, 2021, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Judith (nee Jacobs) Cichy. Loving father of Stephen, David (Dana), Christopher (Lori), Katie (Michael) Smith. Proud grandfather of Ethan, Kayla, Gillan, Avery, Ian, Landon, Mitchell, Taylor, Kylie, Luke, Kennedy, and Hudson. Dear brother of Mary Gizewski and the late Thomas (Janis) Cichy. Dear uncle of Elizabeth Gizewski, Peter and Jonathan Cichy. Cherished son of the late Francis and Gertrude Cichy. Further survived by his mother-in-law, Lorraine Jacobs (101 years old) as well as many other relatives and friends.

Michael was dedicated to his family and his profession. He practiced as a Clinical Psychologist for over 40 years with Wheaton Franciscan / Ascension Healthcare. He loved his work and patients. Michael enjoyed supporting his grandchildren’s activities and interests, spending time with his family, and traveling. His favorite destinations to visit were Indiana, Saugatuck, Bayfield, and Traverse City, but especially Door County! He also enjoyed playing golf and caring for his lawn while wearing his metal golf cleats to aerate the grass. Most of all though, Michael adored and was so proud of his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Visitation will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4825 N Wildwood Ave, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217, on Monday, March 15 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00PM. Memorials in Michael’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 1555 N River Center Dr #211, Milwaukee, WI 53212.

Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to learn of Dr. Cichy´s passing. His expertise and thoughtful care Made a lasting difference in my life. He introduced me to breathing techniques that continue to benefit me daily and guided me towards effective treatment with great professionalism. I remain deeply grateful for his dedication, and his legacy will endure through the many lives he touched.

Just googled Dr.Cichy to see if he was still in practice. So sad to read this. I saw him in my twenties and he helped. Haven't been able to find a therapist since - now 20 years later.

A DAY DOESN'T GO BY WITHOUT HIM ON MY MIND- I MISS HIM EXTREMELY & WANTED HIM TO SEE MY ESA DOG- IT'LL ALWAYS BE A REMINDER. THE ONLY TALK THERAPIST I TRUSTED & NEVER STIGMA, HE MADE ME FEEL VALUED.

So sorry for the family's loss. Dr. Cichy helped me through an incredibly hard time in my life. I was just looking him up to see if he still offered services and am incredibly saddened to find this. He was truly great human and professional I am positive he is missed by all.

Dr. Cichy was my doctor. He was a dedicated doctor who always took the time to listen to me. I will forever miss him and never forget him.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Dr. Cichy´s passing. Growing up in Door County and sharing stories was always a highlight of my visits. We shared our faith, political views and our love for our family. Please accept my deepest condolences. I will surely miss him

To the family of Dr. Michael Cichy, my sincere condolences at this very difficult time, especially to Mrs. Cichy. Doctor Cichy helped me deal with the loss of my husband almost 7 years ago, he was very kind and compassionate helping me deal with the loss and the family problems that also came up during our sessions. I am very grateful. We also found a common thread in my Polish background and discussed books that I had read on the subject. May he rest in peace. God Bless you all.

Hearing about this breaks my heart. I am 17 years old, but when I grow up and have kids, I will tell them all about you and how great of a man you were, and how much you impacted my life. There will NEVER be a doctor like you. Thank you so much for all of your support, Dr. Cichy. Thank you so much for building me up when I was at my lowest. Thank you so much for always telling me that there is light in even the darkest of all tunnels. I will never forget an icon like you. I will achieve like...
