My high school and college friend and teammate you lived the dream. God smiled when he sent you to brighten all our lives. I know your family and friends are sad but all I can do is look back and smile. You are home and it was my pleasure to know you and be your friend. Maybe we will meet again and play one more game. Thank you Mike! Bob DellaPia Eagles were GREAT in 68!!!!

Mike was a great person who always had a smile on his face, unless he was yelling at you (me) on the field. I hold those memories of Kean Lax and our Japan trip so close to my heart. He was a sweet man with a kind heart, who will be dearly missed. My thoughts are with Trish and the family.

I am truly saddened to hear about the passing of Mike. He was on of my closest friends and one of the first really friends I ever made. I met Chief Michael Cleary as an officer when I joined the East Orange Police Department. During my career there were several police chiefs that held that position during my 25 yr career. My condolences to the Cleary Family. Mike was my mentor in many ways. I met him, his first day EOPD as a patrolman on foot. Matty and I watched the then Detective become Chief. Mike Cleary and Matty O., two men of heart, close to my own heart, helped Tommy Lane become a real person. Michael Cleary we had breakfast last year, turned out being our last.
