Clyde as we knew him came into the Payton Family many years ago. We loved him and enjoyed his company each time we saw him. He was a pleasure to be around and we all will miss him dearly. To his wife Carol you have our deepest sympathy. Minerva, Emma, Faye and the entire Payton Family in Virginia

It isn't often that the players really remember an umpire long after their playing careers are over. Mike was an exception to that. We had a lot of fun together over the years. He will be missed in the local baseball community greatly.

I only knew Mike as an umpire for my team's Junior Legion baseball team. It was a pleasure having him do our games. He arrived with a smile, had a great attitude about the kids and the game, and handled himself with class and style. He will be sorely missed.
