Not sure what to say?

I was so very sorry to hear of Michael Collins' passing. He was certainly the finest communicator the U.S. space program ever had. He understood the power of words used well. He took his readers along for the ride like no one else has ever done. For that, we who are drawn to the history of Gemini and Apollo long after they flew are forever grateful. My thoughts and profound sympathies are with his daughters, family and friends.

Mike was a true role model for so many of us. Upon meeting him this man's concern for others and sense of honor was uplifting and inspiring. A trait we should all hope to emulate. He is a true hero in so many ways most people will never get to know. How lucky I was to meet him. Thank you for everything you did for us all and for me personally.

One third of the team which achieved the greatest scientific and engineering project in human history.
A pioneer and a hero.

I had the opportunity of meeting Michael Collins a very long time ago - I am so sorry to learn of his passing - May he rest in peace with God always.

Dear Mike,
I recently had radiotherapy for cancer in my neck. When the claustrophobia started to kick in I would think of your lovely smiling face as you were being prepared for your trip to the moon. Your helmet was clamped on and you smiled. Thinking of that got me through my cancer treatment.
Thank you and RIP.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

To Michael's family - my sincere condolences to all of you on the passing of Michael whom I have admired for a long time for his modesty, decency and who was remarkable in what he achieved. May God bless his soul, may he rest in peace, and may you stay strong. The world lost a rare and wonderful man.
