He was at my graduation party when I finished the BIS program at UVA. I´ll never forget him doing the "worm". He had the best sense of humor. I miss that guy. Same birthday as my grandson Will

I send my deepest sympathies to Michael's family; I only learned about his death last week after the service for him. He was truly one of the good guys! I knew Michael primarily during his years at the TJPDC, and we shared a love of nature and of preserving the natural world. Since then, I saw him from time to time. Mike was certainly a special person. I was blessed to have met him many years ago during my time on the Rappahannock River Basin Commission. He made a significant impact and he will be missed. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and condolences to his family. v/r JoeGrzeika

They broke the mold with Mike. He truly loved life and all that came with it. I enjoyed every minute of our times spent together. I love his family and ache for them
