Mike you popped into my mind today. We were college students together first and then friends. Thank you for giving me those great tips on playing the flute correctly. I still use them. Rest in peace.

RIP- Good friend and a great musician. I Miss Mike and say hi to his spirit every day. God Bless.

I found out that my beloved music professor had passed last year at this time. His lectures were adored by all his students. I was upset for a long time hearing about his passing. I admired everything about him.

His teachings and classes formed my music taste into what it is today. How I play, listen, and approach derives directly from his passion for the music and what it brings to life. On a personal level, we didn't know each other much, but I knew that when I was able to sign up for a class with Dr. Colquhoun, I was ready and determined to be a better musician, which he knew, would make me a better person. Rest Professor, and thank you....

He was my grandfather and Rachael Wright my mother was named Sara

I did not realize that Dr. Colquhoun passed away! I currently teach in Las Vegas and went looking for John Cage's 10 Rules for Students and Teachers, which I learned about in Dr. Colquhoun's class at Canisius. He was a great guy with a big heart and a deep passion for music. May his soul rest in perpetual peace.

Very occasionally I run searches for members of "The Octopus" from Bennett High School, graduating in 1972. Michael was a member of The Octopus. We played music together (my guitar was named Sarah, and Michael promised to name his daughter after it). I'm so sad to hear of Michael's death. He was a spirited, talented, lovely young man. I'll always remember our times together.

We are so sorry to hear of Michael's passing. Please accept our sincere condolence.
