Michael Fitzpatrick Cox

Mike was a dear old law school friend who was always a terrific study pal. He was not afraid to disagree with you, especially when you were wrong, which I more than occasionally was. I loved our time together in the `Burg whether out at a deli or talking for hours on the law school Naugahyde. I shed a tear and raise a glass to you, my friend.

Mike was a fundamental and integral part of the William and Mary Law School community, a remarkable human, the smartest guy in the room, the best man at my wedding, and a deeply loved friend central to many of the best memories in life for me and countless others. He was beloved by so many. His passing is too sudden, and almost too saddening to contemplate. Deepest condolences to Jenny, Olivia, Lauren, Tracey, Carl, and the rest of his family.

Mike was a treasured friend. He was one of the first people I met at Norfolk Southern as a brand new lawyer. He was a fellow W&M Law alum and was always ready with pragmatic advice about life. He was a frequent member of our cohort on Granby Street. I will miss his curmudgeonly ways
