Michael J. Crutchman

Michael J. Crutchman, 50 , of Washington Township, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler. Born in Pittsburgh on October 19, 1961 to Patricia C. Crutchman of Avonmore and the late James C. Crutchman, Michael lived in the Apollo area most of his life. He was employed by the Department of Corrections in Allegheny County as a prison guard. He also served in the Marine Corps infantry and the Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist. Michael enjoyed cooking, watching the Steelers and spending time with his family. He was a 1980 Graduate of Apollo-Ridge High School. Mr. Crutchman was preceded in death by his father, James C. Crutchman, who passed away on October 4, 2004, his maternal grandparents, Edward and Mildred (Bowler) Singer, and his paternal grandparents, Arnold and Clara (Holland) Crutchman. He is survived by his mother, Patricia D. (Singer) Crutchman of Avonmore,daughter, Brandy, two brothers, Robert and Richard J.(Spring) Crutchman of Carmichaels, PA, two Sisters, Kathy Crutchman of Bell Township and Julie M. Crutchman of Cranberry, nephews and nieces; Zachary, Ben, Katie G., Journey, Kailey and Sandra Crutchman and aunt , Peggy Boxler of Saltsburg. At the request of the family, all services will be private and have been entrusted to the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Avenue, Apollo.
