Not sure what to say?

We remember when Mr. Daly graciously took the time to speak to Jim D'Acosta US History class. His words that day engaged the minds of the students as well as their families with whom they shared his story. Mr. Daly's strength, perseverance, and bravery in WWII truly amazed us, yet it was his vision of a kind world at peace that continues to echo within us. Change starts with one committed person, he felt. Mr. Daly encouraged each of us to act. By respecting, dignifying, and helping others, we...

To Michael Daly, Jr.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I would like to express my deepest and most genuine condolences to the family of Michael Daly for their loss. I was a student of Fairfield Warde High School, who through our teacher, Mr. Jim D’Acosta, was privileged enough to hear Mr. Daly speak to our AP US History class, about five years ago, about his courageous and remarkable experiences on the battlefield and in life.

While those experiences have long past and Mr. Daly has left us, I am sure that his spirit lives on in those who...

I was one of the cub scouts who had the distinct privilege of hearing Michael Daly speak in 2001. Even at that young age (I was 10), I was impressed with Mr. Daly's eloquence and with the experiences he talked about. I had a grandfather and another older relative who had both fought in the second world war, and while both had passed away before this event, my family had always told me how reluctant they were to speak of the war. Michael Daly exhibited the same modesty and a profound sense...

As a student of Mr.DaCosta’s 2004 US History class I was privileged enough to be one of the few to hear Mr. Daly speak of his experiences during the war. When we were told we would be meeting a Medal of Honor winning veteran I expected to hear from a man full of pride in his many accomplishments. But during this session I heard this man use another word to describe his feelings toward the events of his past – ‘humbled’. The gravity was deep in his voice when he spoke of the events leading up...

Rob

I remember when Fairfield welcomed back its hero, Captain Daly, with a parade on Post Road. He was still recuperating from his wounds and looked it. We were very proud of him. God bless him for his bravery and his fine life.

Dear Daly Family;
I had the profound pleasure honor of meeting Michael Daly for the first time some 45+ years ago as a rookie field representative for the Atlas Supply Company in Newark, NJ. Michael was a perfect gentleman and always admired by his peers in every respect. Please accept my deepest sympathy extended to all the Daly family members in your bereavement.
