Michael and I had a friendship like a long strand with widely spaced pearls. Given the physical space between us, our encounters were irregular, infrequent, and always treasured. There was a gentle intensity about him I found in no other person. I love him and look forward to the possibility of adding another pearl to our strand. Stephen

Michael and I shared many wonderful and amusing experiences around the time of the building and opening of Glenlaurel. I lived with his mother while he was working on the project in the Hocking Hills. He was a dear friend, a consummate host, and compassionate soul.

Michael impacted many lives, including mine, in many positive ways. He had a loving curiosity about the inner lives of other people. He had the ability to draw another person out of themselves and to nurture them with tender loving care. He could speak the most important truths without offending, and give advice like a wise old sage. He took on ambitious projects for love of the challenge and the realization of dreams. A class act type individual, feel honored to have known Michael! The Man in the kilt! Go with God Michael,you deserve a continued worthy life in the Hereafter!

I met Michael when he came to classes to be part of FairHoPe Hospice and we were in the same class. What a kind spirit he was and such a good listener. I'll always remember him. Peace be with you dear friend.
