So sorry to read this. Last saw Mike several years ago at the Pensacola yacht club. I remember Mike from sailing days long time ago. “Fairwinds and following seas “

It truly saddens me that I've had to say goodbye to yet another of "my boys" of proud Company B at Culver Military Academy, Class of 1956. I was Michael's company commander that year. What an asset he was to our organization and to Culver. Although Michael only schooled with us for two years, he superbly fit into our unit. We met from time to time after graduation. I can't say enough about all his laudable qualities.
We were in the process of putting the touches to our class...

Mike was always such a pleasure when I would visit. Often the calm among the storm, Mike maintained a strong even keel as the household energetically spun around him. Always eager to provide his informed opinion, Mike and the family entertained me with conversation and debate. I learned a great deal about the importance of research, passion and inspiration through the many conversations with the Judge over the years. He was a positive and delightful influence. His presence will be missed....

We remember Mike with a spring in his step, a love of life, love and appreciation of good food and fine wine, a deep devotion to his only Julie and his many cats. Fond memories of sailing on Lake Champlain, fine dining in Montreal, Vermont, Pensacola and New Orleans. Mike was a genuine southern gentleman without pretense, and with a sense of justice and concern for others. We will miss his sense of humor, his wit and his big smile. Our deepest sympathy and love at this sad, sad time.
