Seale Funeral Service - Denham Springs Obituary

Michael Todd Denson, a native of West Monroe, Louisiana, and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed Tuesday afternoon, the 12th of September, 2017, at the age of 47. He is a graduate of the class of 1988 at Walker High School, and later attended Southeastern Louisiana University, Louisiana State University, and Baton Rouge Community College. He faithfully served the Senate of Louisiana until his passing, most recently as a research assistant, and formerly as communications director at the Capitol in Baton Rouge. In his spare time, he drove for Uber, sharing his nifty comments and slick wit with every person he interacted with. In the past, he worked as a dialysis technician, providing medical assistance for the disadvantaged at Earl K. Long Medical Center, and previously owned his own windshield repair business. An accomplished photographer, Michael Todd had a discerning eye for light, space, and composition. His journey into photography started almost thirty years ago, developing his own prints in his home, using a medium-format film camera to produce ultra-high resolution black and white prints. His photographs stirred the conscience as his own persona was reflected on print and digital media. A staple of the downtown scene, Michael Todd could be spotted in all of the local venues, such as The River Room, often giving his eccentric, clever input whenever he saw fit. Known for his bold and silly sense of humor, friends and family were always erupting in laughter when he was around. A man of unique style, Michael Todd was always dressed up. He enjoyed tailored suits, fitted shirts with effortlessly cool cuff links, pants of all kinds, and always distinctive shoes and socks. Michael Todd loved the outdoors. He loved spending his summers at a pool or the lake, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He loved going camping and hiking with his family, taking in all the natural world had to offer. He enjoyed being out on the water, on the beach, or just relaxing in the sun by a pool. Michael Todd could often be seen playing his guitars; he was a genuine enthusiast of music. His gift for words are seen throughout his many insightful poems, letters, blogs, and social media posts he leaves behind. He was a beloved family man and father stopping whatever he was doing in an instant to give help wherever it was needed. He is survived by his only son and the love of his life, Lucas Johnathon Denson, and his son's Mother and friend always, Kimberlyn DiVincenti Denson; Mother Kathryn Camille Denson; brother John Bradley Denson and wife Beth Paxton Denson, and nieces Madison Elise and Makenzie Paxton Denson. He is also survived by his close DiVincenti family, Philip Roy DiVincenti; Michael Lane and Bliss Caves DiVincenti; nephew Bryce Michael DiVincenti; and niece Karah Laine DiVincenti. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, John Edwin Denson. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home of Denham Springs, on Friday, the 15th of September, 2017, from 6:00 to 9:00 in the evening. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 in the morning at Evergreen Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Philip DiVincenti, Michael DiVincenti, John Waller, McHenry "Dub" Lee, Jeff Denson, Matt Denson, and William Moody. "Go rest high on that mountain son, your work on Earth is done."
