I was Michael's chemistry teacher at Alta High and was out on maternity leave when the accident occurred. i just returned yesterday to find out the news and wanted to let you know that Michael was one of the finest young men I have ever known. He was such a fun student and he always came to say hello to me before or after school.

Having taught Michael, Matthew and now Morgan, my heart was deeply saddened by the news of Michael's passing. I remember him fondly as one of my favorite students (along with his brothers...). Michael was especially kind in helping me with my computer needs and problems. His expertise came into play many times and he was always low-key and unpretentious in sharing his skills.
