Not sure what to say?

Patrick wishes to share some things.
Here goes.

What I said at the service.

"Whats to say about Mike he's smart he's funny, but his best quality is being the best dad ever. He took me to baseball games and bowling. He also loved coaching my little league games and just playing catch in the back yard. He co-owned Dover bowl and had a wonderful wife Tammy Downs who loved him very much and had me Patrick Downs who also loved him very much. The plain message is...

Many people have asked about the poem I read at the service. Here it is just in case you may like it.

The Invitation
by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for,and if you dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesnt't interst me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream for the adventure of being alive.

I wish to thank each and every person who has signed this guest book, it has meant so much to me and our son Patrick. I have been to the very bottom of darkness but am beginning to see the light. When I was seventeen years old I fell in love with Michael and I never stopped loving him through it all. April 26th is Michaels birthday, Patrick and I are going to get balloons and write letters to him and send them up at noon time.
Brad I plan on emailing you when I get a chance your...

To the Downs family, Was saddened to hear of Mikes passing. I went to Dover High School with him. My deepest sympathy.

Dear Tammy and Patrick,
You have been in my thoughts and prayers. Please call me or e-mail me if there is anything at all that I can do, or if you just need a listening ear.
I have a Daily Devotional Calendar on my desk by Helen Steiner Rice and I felt that todays message was about Michael.
It goes:
There are some folk we meet in passing
And forget them as soon as they go-
There are some we remember with pleasure
And feel honored and privileged...

Natalie, Tammy, and Patrick,

We are so terribly sad about Mike's passing. The first time we met him, he was a young boy, and it was at the wedding of my sister, Andrea, to his brother, Harry. Over the years we have had many happy, but some sad get-togethers; but we will always remember Mike as a friendly, and caring person. I think he cared a great deal for his family and friends, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Our deepest sympathy to all of you,
...

Your whole family is in our heart and prayers. God Bless,

It was with much sadness I read about the passing of Mike Downs.
We grew up in the same neighborhood
just houses apart. I remember when his brother died in a motorcycle accident, my dad had to cover it for the Union Leader. My heart went out to him then, as it goes out to you- his mom, his wife, his son- now. How I asked myself can life end at 44? I had the pleasure of staying in touch with Mike on behalf of our newspapers for advertising Dover Bowl placed. He was always in such...
