Michael Eckstein

Mike single handedly kept the Agent Orange commission active. His knowledge of the issue helped all Vietnam Veterans stand on his shoulders to get the compensation we deserved. Never forgotten Mike, RIP

Mike and I were classmates back in the early 1950's in P.S. 67 in The Bronx NYC.
If I remember correctly Mike lived with his mother and father and I believe he had an older brother, in an apartment building on East 178th Street & Southern Blvd. In The Honeywell section of The Bronx NYC.
We became friends, played ball in the schoolyard and we hung out during those days.
Of course as the years passed we both chose our individual paths in life and as a result we went our separate...

I am so sorry to just find out about Mike's passing. He was a wonderful person and I spent many days and hours with him at the early days of Hopatcong Hawks soccer. Mike was a great help during those years.

Mike was a great friend to Birth Defect Research for Children. He helped our organization in our search for answers to the effects Agent Orange had on veterans' children and grandchildren. I will miss him and wish his family my deepest condolences.

I am so very sorry to learn about Mike's passing. He and I worked tirelessly on Agent Orange issues with several other Vietnam Veterans for the past 18 years and it truly breaks my heart to lose this fine man. My heart goes out to his wife and family at this time. Rest in Peace, Michael. I love you my friend.

Today we mourn the passing of a great American and Humanitarian, Mr. Agent Orange of the Vietnam Veterans of America, our Brother Michael Eckstein. Michael Eckstein is one of the forefathers of the movement to fight for the rights of veterans and their families to successfully obtain treatment for exposure to dioxin Agent Orange and recently to all military exposures. From all of our Sisters and Brothers of VVA Chapter 327 we extend our deepest sympathy to the Eckstein family.
