Edwards, Michael Miller November 11, 1941 - June 12, 2025

Michael Miller Edwards, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away on June 12th, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on November 11, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, to Glenn and Orphia Edwards.

On September 16, 1961, Michael married the love of his life, Judith Ann Brewer. Together they built a home filled with love, faith, and devotion to family.

Michael dedicated nearly four decades to his work at General Motors, where he served as a skilled toolmaker from 1959 until his retirement in 1998. His work ethic and quiet strength were hallmarks of his character, both on the job and at home.

A dedicated Christian, Michael served faithfully for many years at Cornerstone Baptist Church. He held many roles over the years, including deacon, Treasurer, bus ministry driver, and caretaker of the church grounds well into his retirement. His service touched many lives and was a testament to his humble and giving spirit.

Above all, Michael was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 63 years, Judith Ann Edwards; his sister Sandy (Terry) Brewer, his children Dennis (Mark Steinberg) Edwards; Doug (Tracy) Edwards and their children Dylan, Cole, Maxwell, and Ava; Dawn (Dave) Morrissey and their children Alexander (Angela), Austin, Aaron (Moriah), and Audrey (Jesse) Porter, along with six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Orphia Edwards; his brother, Dennis Edwards; and his great-grandson, Ryan Porter.

Michael’s legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Swartz Funeral Home on June 17 from 3-5pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Rd. in Swartz Creek on June 18 at 11am, preceded by visitation at 10am.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Mrs. Judy and Family,

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Mike Edward’s. Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing him personally, I have heard many wonderful stories from my husband and his family about Mike’s kindness and the positive impact he had on those around him. It’s clear he was a good man who will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure to know him.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...

Dear Judy and family,
I am so sorry for your loss and pray for God’s comfort and blessing on you all at this time. Mike truly was a great man. Mike (my husband) and I have talked often about what a wonderful man, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend he was. His servant heart and genuine kindness were always things we admired about him. He was one of the first to show up when work needed to be. No job was too menial for him. He loved to make people laugh and his laugh was...

Uncle Mike was one of the most grounded, down to earth Christian man I have ever known. To describe him to someone you would have to say he was, funny, kind, caring, understanding, loving and Christ-Like. There are very few people on this earth that this can be said about. He always was a true joy to be around. My Dad thought the world of Mike as well as the rest of us. He had me out-loud laughing the last time I spoke with him around Christmas. He handled his memory loss with humor and...

So sorry to all of you, your dad was a great guy. And he was a great mentor ❤

It was an Honor and a Privilege to have known you, Mike
