Dr. Michael Comerford Egan

Dr Egan was my attending as a surgical resident in San Diego and I was lucky to deploy with him on the Kitty Hawk. He was my all-time favorite attending and taught me so much. Not just technical tricks in the OR but a ton about surgical decision-making. As surgeons we carry around the voices of those who trained us in our heads as we move through our own careers. 25 years after residency, Mike´s voice is still in my head to this day making sure I do the right thing. He will be missed.

We were so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. I was just 10 years old when he left for medical school. He was very close to my grandfather, Bill Monahan. It's been several years since we last spoke but I always knew him to be a caring and generous person. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family. John (and Lydia) Comerford

Michael's Family, Even though we have never met personally, Michael was my first cousin. His mother Helen and my dad Mike were brother and sister. I last saw Michael at his mother funeral a few years ago. Even though a few years older than me, I always looked up to the Egan boys, and I will never forget that Michael made the trip into my Dad's funeral in 1983. I just wanted to express my condolences to all of his family. Joan Comerford Walsh
