Read MoreWhen I joined the Shasta Woodworkers, Mike was one of the first people I met. He invited me over to his house to see his works and techniques, and from time to time even supplied me with wood for projects. He always seemed a gentle soul with a ready laugh. He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Englert was a remarkable craftsmen, and my family and I bought a number of hand turned wooden bowls and chargers from him over the last fifteen years. It was always a pleasure to talk about woodworking; for being so good, Mike was always so modest, and I'm glad that we had the luck to know him. His work will be treasured. We have friends and family in Ireland, England and Spain that really loved these gifts and were very sorry to hear of Mike's passing.
