Read MoreI´m very sad to see this. I umpired at 3&2 from 1984 to 1989 and for one year with the KSHAA. Mike was maybe my favorite and best boss of all time. I admired him and learned a lot from him. Prayers to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Etnire Family. Mike was a fantastic official and a great guy to have work your games. His legacy across the entire officiating and coaching circles will not be forgotten. He was the best. May he rest in peace.

Mike was a great official and I counted him as a wonderful friend. His easy smile and chill demeanor was just what you needed in an official, especially in a tight game with some strong personalities on the bench:). He was never one to blow a T to show up a coach or "be the show" ...I loved how he handled coaches and players. God rest his soul

My condolences to the Etnire family. Our paths crossed many times in the sports world. He was the most respected official and umpire. I always enjoyed a quick visit before a game. What a wonderful man.
