Michael John Fagan, age 84, of Shannon, IL passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Stephenson Nursing Center. Michael was born in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to Olive (Sims) and Joseph Fagan on October 14, 1933. During his lifetime he spent 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 1972 and 20 years at Kelly Springfield in Freeport, retiring in 1992.


He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara (Jochheim) Fagan, and his children Tim (Rose), Kevin (Ruth), Sean (Teresa), Brian (Lori), and Raymond. His 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by five sisters, Anne Westhoven of PA, Kathleen Craft of TX, Charlotte Klee of WV, Rosemarie Barthen of PA, and Joanne Pajak of FL. He is preceded in death by his daughter Debra, parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.


The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church in Shannon at 10:30 am. There will be a visitation Wednesday, November 1, at the Hermann Funeral Home in Shannon from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment will take place at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society. Condolences may be shared at www.hermannfuneralhome.com.
