Basketball playoffs always remind me of Mike. He was a great roomate and person and I still can't believe he's gone.

I'd like to add that it's been a long time since Mike passed but I only found out about it thru a Lowell Tech pub and then had trouble finding this. As his Tech Sophomore roomate, I knew of his diabetes and we talked a little about it. He treated it as no big deal and it certainly had no effect on the Bball court. Coocookachoo buddy!

I'm sorry I never followed up on our college friendship. I was Mike's dorm roomate Sophomore year at Lowell Tech. He was a great person and although we were pretty different, I really admired him. Our standard, daily greeting was "Coo Coo Ka Choo" (Beatles - I am the Walrus lyric).

To all of the Finocchio's and those who loved him, I send you my sincerest deepest sympathy. He was one special and great person. When I heard of his passing i went home and cried. He was such positive influence on me as well as my friends. He was the older kid, the big brother I never had, who would spend time with you, help and guide you. He was the teacher's teacher. We had a lot of the same roots. We spent time in the Orient Heights Projects and later went to St Dominic Savio, and...

To the Finocchio family,
I knew Mike mostly thru playing in the East Boston schoolyards and Paris St Gym & Savio basketball courts, with his brothers Ralph & Tony, and friend Joe T. I must relay an incident that took place about 40 years ago, and will go with me to my grave as one of my best memories. At the champions banquet concluding a local basketball tourney, Mike, who's team had won the championship, was deservedly awarded with the playoff MVP trophy. When he returned to his...

I just heard of Mike's passing yesterday and was deeply saddened. He was a great team mate at Savio. AS great as a player he was, he must have been a better husband and father from what I have been reading. He will be missed in this world. Savio class of 67

I have not seen Mickey in years, but I am very sad to hear about his Death. I can remember when we were all together in Orient Height's Project. There were eight in his family and twelve in our's, oh what fun we had and the things we use to get into. Every time I ride by there I think of the rope swing in the tree and always think of him, A couple of times he hit the tree and broke his arm but would not let that tree get the better of him. I'll miss you cuz. All my love

Let's not forget one of his classics.... "tele-phone, tele-graph, Tell-Irene"
...and oh so many more that will come to mind as the days go by. I love how my brother loved his families, the one he came from, even taking care of our mother when needed... and the one he set forth to the world... all beautiful and all loving... Thanks for that Mickey. with Love, your sister
